The 100+ year old Grenache parcel, planted in 1919, is located in the eastern part of the island of Saint Martin. The vines have grown for 100 years, crawling along the ground on windswept clay-limestone soil, shrugging off the winds. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, as mechanization is not possible. Whole cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts and 4-6 months aging in egg-shaped flextanks. This 100+ year old Grenache is not only concentrated, but also has very subtle and elegant aromas of roast, chocolate and other Loire-inspired notes.
