Blend : Alicante-Henri-Bouschet

(Petit Bouschet, Grenache Noire)

Region : Languedoc

The vines were planted in 1950 on the slopes of the Clapes Mountains. Alicante Henri Bouschet is a grape variety created in 1855 from a cross between Petit Bouschet and Grenache Noir. It is grown in the harsh environment of Les Zamphérées, a parcel of limestone soil with very thin soils and low rainfall. This produces beautifully concentrated fruit. The wine is hand harvested, destemmed, and vinified in concrete tanks, then aged for 4 months in flextanks. The wine has a deep, dark ruby color, aromas of small berries with beautiful acidity, and is both round and delicate.
