Blend : Chardonnay 100%
The vineyard is a mere 25-acre parcel of Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soil, with 60+ year old Chardonnay vines planted between 1940 and 1950 by Gerald Villain's grandfather's brother, Clovis. Clovis had no children, so Gerald Villain took over the vineyard and named it after him. The freshness and minerality of Chablis are preserved while the oak adds aroma and roundness. The wine is then aged on its lees.
